The Team
Our Commercial Finance team partners across the business to provide analytics, insight, and challenge that drive better commercial decisions. This role sits within the Inflight Retail Finance team – managing the full onboard retail P&L covering food & beverage, duty‑free, tobacco, and ancillary products.
The Role
As Finance Manager – Inflight Retail, you will act as a strategic business partner to the Inflight Retail leadership team, driving financial performance and supporting the delivery of the wider retail strategy. You’ll work across the full retail P&L — from sales and margin optimisation through to logistics cost control.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Partner strategically with Inflight Retail leadership to influence decisions across the full retail P&L
- Challenge and support trading decisions, category strategies, pricing and promotions
- Present insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders
- Support commercial initiatives, product launches and trials through modelling, risk assessment and benefits tracking
- Build strong relationships with Commercial, Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, Legal and Last Mile Providers
- Monitor and analyse trading performance across products, routes, bases, and customer segments
- Lead deep‑dive analysis on shrinkage, waste, incentives and supply chain impacts
- Track and evaluate strategic programme performance and recommend improvement actions
- Deliver high‑quality forecasts, budgets, business plans and performance reporting
- Develop predictive analytics to enhance sales and margin forecasting
- Support month‑end close, ensuring accurate accruals, provisions and adjustments
- Lead product profitability analysis to inform range decisions
- Support the creation of budget presentations for senior management
- Drive continuous improvement across finance and commercial processes
- Build strong cross‑functional relationships and act as a subject matter expert
- Support and mentor junior team members
Requirements of the Role
What We’re Looking For
- Qualified accountant with 3+ years PQE
- Experience in large, complex, fast‑moving organisations
- Strong analysis and variance interpretation skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to manage and interpret large datasets; passion for automation and process improvement
- Proven ability to business partner and influence senior stakeholders
- Proactive self‑starter with strong commercial acumen
- Aviation experience welcome but not essential
- Experience working with multi‑unit, EMEA or global teams preferred

This is a full‑time role based in Luton, working 40 hours per week. We support hybrid working and spend around 60% of our time in the office each month.
