We are seeking dedicated Secure Care Workers for daytime shifts to deliver exceptional care to children and young people, ensuring they are treated with compassion and respect. Our primary mission is to safeguard young individuals during times of crisis while facilitating a supportive pathway for their future. In this role, you will play a crucial part in helping them achieve positive outcomes by assisting with their education, health, and independence, while also fostering their self‑confidence. As a Secure Care Worker, it is essential to approach your responsibilities with optimism and a genuine passion for making a difference, all while being mindful of the challenges these young people face. The nature of the work is diverse, with each day presenting unique experiences, as we recognise that every young person is an individual deserving of personalised care.
Experience and Skills
- Demonstrate our core values when working with young people, treating everybody with dignity and showing courage in the face of challenging behaviour.
- Hold a Level 3 Diploma for residential childcare (or equivalent) or be willing to work towards this.
- Commitment to support and care for vulnerable and traumatised young people.
- Engage in good child care practice.
- Recognise and set limits of behaviour and provide controls to traumatised and vulnerable young people.
- Handle emotional and physical conflict.
- Respond quickly and appropriately to crisis situations and use initiative.
- Understand the needs of children and young people.
