Your Role
As a Home Care Assistant with Care 24-7 you will visit Clients' homes to provide care and support in a warm, professional, kind and caring manner. You will perform core tasks of personal care and support within the Clients' own home, and communicate with relatives, colleagues and other professionals both verbally and in writing to record information.
Responsibilities
- Assist Clients with personal care including getting up, washing and dressing; getting ready for bed; baths and showers; going to the toilet; hair and nail care, make-up, shaving, and oral care
- Support with medication
- Help with meal preparation including eating and drinking
- Support participation in daily activities such as companionship, crafts, reading and writing; shopping and prescriptions collection; collecting pensions and benefits; paying bills; laundry and ironing; light housework
- Work in accordance with Care 24-7 policies and procedures and comply with legal requirements (e.g., CQC & Health and Safety at Work Act)
- Ensure care tasks on the support plan are performed and report concerns to Managers / Supervisors
- Build two-way relationships of trust with colleagues, people we support and their families
- Maintain a safe working environment and report any concerns immediately
- Complete simple statistical information and maintain records using the Mobile Phone Care Planner app
- Commit to learning and developing through training and development opportunities
- Use Personal Protective Equipment correctly
- Maintain excellent timekeeping and attendance
Skills and Qualifications
- Warm, compassionate approach with empathy and safe working practices
- Good clear communication and ability to handle confidential information
- Ability to build rapport with Clients, relatives, colleagues and other professionals
- Ability to provide personal and intimate care with dignity and respect
- Willingness to undertake ongoing training (online modules and practical equipment training)
- Attend supervision and guidance sessions with Line Manager
- Maintain confidentiality and protect personal information
- Decision-making skills focused on Client safety and needs
- Accurate and honest reporting in line with company policy
- Proper use of Personal Protective Equipment
- Excellent timekeeping and attendance
Applicants must have or obtain an enhanced Adult and Child DBS certificate.
Hours and Location Details
Shifts are on a rotating 2-week cycle. Applicants must be flexible to work alternate weekends or 1 day every weekend. Available shift options are:
- Mornings & Lunch 07.00 – 14.00
- Teas & Evenings 16.00 – 22.00
- Full Days 07.00 – 14.00 and 16.00 – 22.00
