We are looking to add a committed and caring Support Worker to our team. The ideal applicant will offer crucial assistance to people in a variety of contexts, such as assisted living facilities and housekeeping tasks. In order to ensure clients’ comfort, safety, and well-being while fostering independence, this position entails helping them with everyday living activities.

Duties

  • Assist clients with personal care, such as clothing, grooming, and bathing.
  • Assist clients with transfers and mobility, including heavy lifting when required.
  • Help prepare meals and make sure clients are getting enough nutrients.
  • Keep an eye on the health status of your clients and administer medication as directed if necessary.
  • Use behaviour management strategies to assist customers who exhibit difficult behaviours.
  • Provide customers with emotional support and company to improve their quality of life.
  • Carry out basic housekeeping tasks to maintain your clients’ surroundings tidy and secure.
  • Record the care given and notify the proper healthcare providers of any changes in the client’s condition.
  • When necessary, transport clients to social events or appointments.

Skills

  • It is quite beneficial to have prior experience in senior care, assisted living, or nursing homes.
  • Understanding of normal patient care procedures, hospice care, dementia care, and Alzheimer’s care.
  • Strong caregiving abilities and the capacity to support others with different needs in a sympathetic manner.
  • Competence in emergency response methods.
  • Outstanding communication abilities for productive interactions with patients, families, and medical teams.
  • The capacity to patiently and empathetically handle difficult behaviours.
  • Working hours should be flexible, and clients’ needs should be accommodated.
