Duties:
- Personal care and practical support for service users to enable them to lead as independent a lifestyle as possible
- Respecting the service users’ dignity, privacy, and independence as far as practical
- Cooking and meal preparation in accordance with certain dietary requirements
- Taking care of all personal laundry and bed linens
- Cleaning the bathroom and kitchen after use, including dishes and wiping the floor
- Making the bed and changing the sheets
- Cleaning your bedroom, including dusting and vacuuming
- Shopping and running errands around the house
- Taking walks
- Socialisation, friendship, and support
- Participating in and encouraging stimulating activities
- Assisting with family and friends’ correspondence
- Respite care for family carers
- Escorting service users in preparation and support in going out to do daily activities, walking, shopping, and medical appointments
- Preparing, serving, and assisting with the feeding of meals and drinks
Experience:
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology and procedures is a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Compassionate and caring attitude towards patients
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
