Responsibilities
- Measure and cut fabric, foam and padding to fit sofa frames.
- Upholster sofas using fabric or leather, ensuring secure coverings, smooth seams and a quality finish.
- Sew fabric pieces and reinforce upholstery sections where necessary.
- Operate hand tools, power tools and sewing machines safely.
- Assemble sofa frames, cushions and upholstery components to specifications.
- Lift and move sofa frames, cushions and materials.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe workspace.
- Help produce durable, attractive furniture that meets quality standards and customer expectations.
Requirements
- Strong mechanical knowledge of furniture components and upholstery processes.
- Proficiency with hand tools, including staple guns, scissors, screwdrivers and pliers.
- Experience operating power tools, drills, pneumatic staplers and sewing machines.
- Sewing skills for attaching and reinforcing upholstery fabric.
- Knowledge of furniture fabrication and upholstery techniques.
- Ability to lift heavy materials safely.
- Good attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Prior warehouse experience is preferred, but not stated as mandatory.
- Willingness to learn and work as part of a team.
