Hays Recruitment is supporting a Runcorn‑based single‑form entry primary school that is at the heart of its local community, seeking a motivated and experienced teaching assistant to join a long‑term temporary team on a part‑time basis (5 mornings, 8:30 am‑1 pm). The role involves supporting a KS1 pupil with SEN on a 1:1 basis in the main classroom and resource provision. The pupil requires intensive speech and language support, so the assistant will lead on speech and language interventions and therapy.

Responsibilities

  • Use of PECS and Makaton to support speech and language development
  • Integrating into new pupil groups
  • Supporting during break and lunch times

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Applicants must have full "Right to Work" in the UK and a minimum of 40 referenceable days of classroom experience within the last two years
  • Experience supporting SEN, speech, and language requirements is advantageous
  • Experience using PECS and Makaton
  • ELKLAN training is advantageous
