Responsibilities
- Perform full and interim vehicle servicing and routine maintenance.
- Replace brake pads, brake discs and other braking components.
- Repair suspension systems, including shock absorbers, springs and suspension arms.
- Replace clutches and carry out related mechanical repairs.
- Diagnose and repair engine faults and other mechanical problems.
- Perform oil changes and replace filters.
- Inspect and repair steering and braking systems.
- Replace timing belts and timing chains where qualified.
- Use diagnostic equipment to identify vehicle faults.
- Work on a variety of vehicle makes and models.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and comply with health and safety requirements.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Motor Vehicle Technician or Mechanic.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle servicing and general mechanical repairs.
- Practical experience with brakes, suspension, clutches and engine repairs.
- Ability to diagnose faults and work independently.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Reliability, punctuality and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy garage.
- A full UK driving licence is preferred, but not stated as essential.
- Willingness to complete a one-week fully paid trial at the Dagenham garage before moving to the Romford workshop.
