We are seeking a dedicated Childcare Practitioner to join our team, providing high-quality care and support to children in a nurturing environment. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for early childcare development, excellent communication skills, and the ability to create a safe and engaging space for children to learn and grow. This role offers an opportunity to make a positive impact on young lives.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities that promote learning, development, and interaction among children.
- Supervise children during playtime, meals, and organised activities, ensuring their safety at all times.
- Foster a warm, welcoming environment that encourages children’s curiosity and confidence.
- Maintain accurate records of children’s progress and daily activities.
- Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding children’s behaviour, progress, and any concerns.
- Assist in organising fun activities and special events for children.
- Support colleagues in maintaining a clean, safe, and organised childcare setting.
- Full UK driving licence required for outings and school pick-ups/drop-offs (where applicable).
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with children in childcare settings or nurseries.
- Knowledge of EYFS and childcare development stages.
- Strong management and leadership skills to guide both children and team members effectively.
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills in English, with the ability to liaise confidently with parents, colleagues, and children.
- Relevant childcare qualifications or certifications are preferred.
- A valid full UK driving licence is desirable for roles involving transportation duties.
- Organised with the ability to plan activities efficiently while maintaining flexibility as needed.
- A caring and empathetic attitude combined with patience, creativity, and enthusiasm for working with young children.
- Experience in early years education is welcomed.
