Responsibilities
- Create and implement efficient category management techniques to maximise inventory levels and reduce expenses.
- Manage transportation management systems (TMS) to plan shipping routes, schedules, and freight expenses.
- Track inventory, orders, and shipments via warehouse management systems (WMS) and ERP platforms like AS400.
- Collaborate with third‐party logistics providers (3PL) to guarantee prompt delivery and effective logistics solutions.
- Oversee shipping and receiving operations, ensuring orders are fulfilled accurately and paperwork is in order.
- Analyse data to identify supply‐chain opportunities for cost savings, process efficiency, and service enhancement.
- Supervise forklift truck and other equipment usage for safe transportation of materials.
- Monitor picking and packing procedures to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Implement ongoing process improvements to increase overall operational performance.
- Ensure all warehouse and material‐handling operations adhere to health and safety laws.
Requirements
- Solid grasp of warehouse operations and a track record in supply‐chain or logistics management positions.
- Competence with data‐analysis tools, ERP platforms like AS400, transportation management systems (TMS), and warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Understanding of supply‐chain optimisation strategies, process‐improvement approaches, and category management.
- Practical experience with forklifts and other goods‐handling equipment.
- Strong organisational abilities with the capacity to handle several priorities effectively.
- Outstanding communication skills for coordinating with suppliers, third‐party providers, and internal teams.
- Relevant credentials in supply‐chain management, logistics, or similar sectors are preferred (not essential).
