Worker: Join our dynamic agricultural team as a Farm Worker, playing a critical part in maintaining and supporting the everyday operations of our farm.
This is a dynamic career and a great opportunity to work outside, help grow crops and care for animals, and gain hands‑on experience in farming activities.
You will help with planting, harvesting, equipment maintenance, irrigation management, and animal husbandry to help keep the farm running smoothly and efficiently.
Duties
- Use the right equipment and procedures to help you plant, irrigate, fertilise and harvest crops.
- Use and maintain farm equipment, including power tools and machinery, ensuring correct maintenance and safety procedures are followed.
- Manage irrigation systems to ensure crops are getting enough water supply. Troubleshoot problems as necessary.
- Perform general maintenance around the farm, such as fence, gate, and equipment repair.
- Care for farm animals, including feeding, cleaning cages, health monitoring, and basic veterinarian care as needed.
- Use hand tools for a variety of jobs, such as trimming, digging or erecting infrastructure.
- Conduct routine checks of the farm environment for hazards or maintenance required.
- Assist team members during peak seasons with heavy lifting and manual labour as needed.
- Work Experience
- Previous experience on a farm or in an agricultural context is preferable but not required; training will be provided to dedicated individuals.
- Knowledge of horticulture principles and preferred animal care procedures.
- Knowledge of irrigation systems, mechanical tools, power tools, and equipment repair is a plus.
- Ability to safely and efficiently undertake heavy lifting in outside situations.
- Strong mechanical ability, with expertise using hand tools and servicing equipment.
- Basic math abilities to measure inputs like fertiliser or to modify irrigation settings.
