Overview of the JobWe are looking for a highly organised and experienced Dispatch and Distribution Manager to manage and coordinate daily dispatch activities in our transport and logistics network. The person will ensure that routes are planned well, deliveries are made on time, the fleet is used properly, and UK transport rules are followed. This role is ideal for a professional with strong leadership, operational planning, and problem‐solving skills in a fast‐paced distribution setting.

Main Duties

Oversee and manage daily dispatch and distribution operations to make sure deliveries are made on time and at a low cost.

Plan, arrange, and improve the routes for drivers and fleet vehicles.

Oversee dispatch personnel, drivers, and teams that run the business.

Monitor vehicle availability, fleet performance, and utilisation.

Ensure compliance with DVSA, health and safety, and road traffic laws.

Collaborate with clients, depots, and external partners to resolve operational issues.

Track delivery KPIs, driver performance, and service levels.

Address real‐time problems such as delays, breakdowns, or route modifications.

Maintain accurate dispatch records, reports, and paperwork.

Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Skills and Experience Required

Proven experience managing dispatch, distribution, or transportation operations.

In-depth knowledge of UK road transport rules and standards.

Expertise in route design and fleet coordination.

Experience leading and managing teams.

Ability to operate under pressure and make quick decisions.

Strong communication and organisational skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, scheduling tools, and transport management systems (TMS).

Analytical mindset focused on problem solving and attention to detail.
