Overview: The Trust is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to provide senior clinical leadership within its Frailty Therapy Intervention Team. The successful candidate will support the delivery of high-quality occupational therapy services, contribute to patient rehabilitation and recovery, and help develop the skills and performance of the wider clinical team.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership and specialist occupational therapy support within the Frailty Therapy Intervention Team.
- Assess patients’ functional abilities and identify their rehabilitation needs.
- Develop and implement appropriate occupational therapy interventions and treatment plans.
- Support patients to improve independence and daily living skills.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary colleagues to coordinate patient care.
- Supervise, support and guide other occupational therapy staff.
- Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives.
- Promote evidence-based practice and maintain high professional standards.
- Support effective communication between patients, families, carers and healthcare professionals.
Requirements
- Degree or equivalent professional qualification in Occupational Therapy.
- Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Substantial post‑qualification experience in occupational therapy.
- Experience working with patients who have complex needs, particularly within frailty or rehabilitation services.
- Previous experience providing clinical leadership or supervising other staff.
- Strong communication, organisation and decision‑making skills.
- Ability to manage a clinical caseload and prioritise competing demands.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and evidence‑based practice.
