We are looking for motivated individuals who want a rewarding role as part of a service that makes a difference. As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will join our team supporting service users in their homes in Holbeach near Spalding, Lincolnshire. We specialise in providing person-centred care for adults with a forensic mental health background, challenging behaviour, learning disabilities and autism to enable them to play a meaningful part within their community. You will be responsible for the delivery of outstanding care to the people we support.
Requirements
- Due to a genuine occupational requirement, we can accept male applicants only (Occupational Requirement under Schedule 9 (part 1) of the Equality Act)
- Experience with working with people with mental health, autism, challenging behaviours and learning disabilities
- People who have used restraint or would be comfortable being trained to use restraint
- Can lone work with confidence and be part of a wider team
- Strong values and person-centred approach
- Must be able to work shifts to meet the needs of the service
- Individuals who are enthusiastic, resilient, energetic, and proactive
- Individuals who can go biking, fishing, swimming and engage in physical activity with the person they will be supporting
- You will need to be enthusiastic and creative to provide the best person-centred support possible

- Be passionate about supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism

- Must live within commutable distance of Spalding
- Must have a valid driving licence and own vehicle due to the service’s location with limited public transport links
Desirable
- Experience supporting service users with epilepsy and administering Buccal Midazolam – highly desirable (training will be provided)
- Experience working with either forensic mental health, supported living or residential settings
- Can evidence NVQ qualification in social care or Care Certificate – training will be provided.
