Hours: 48 hours a week, with 12‐hour shifts

As a Mental Health Support Worker, you'll be part of our team that helps people with mental health issues in their homes in Epsom, Surrey. Accordia employees have tremendous job security, great career growth, and the best professional training in the business.

About the Role

We focus on giving people with a forensic mental health background, challenging behaviour, learning disabilities, and autism person‐centred care so they may be active members of their community. You will be in charge of giving the people we help great care. We want people who are motivated and want to work for a service that makes a difference. Our main supported living facility is on Reigate Road, 8 minutes from Ewell East train station, and offers parking on site.

What You Need

  • Experience working with persons who have mental health issues, autism, difficult behaviours, or learning disabilities
  • Experience with restraint or willingness to learn restraint techniques
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong set of ideals and a focus on the individual
  • Flexibility to work shifts to suit the needs of the service
  • Energetic initiative and the willingness to help adults with autism and learning challenges
  • Capability to engage in physical activities with residents (e.g., bicycling, fishing, swimming)
  • Commitment to personal and professional growth
  • Empathy and the ability to handle challenging or potentially dangerous behaviours
  • Positive, confident, and enjoyable presence

Desirable Experience and Qualifications

  • Experience in forensic mental health, assisted living, or residential care
  • Proof of NVQ qualification in social care or a Care Certificate (training available)
  • Basic knowledge of diabetes care or experience with people who have it
  • Valid full UK driving licence
  • Live within 30 minutes of Epsom via train or car
