Description
Provide personal care, companionship and reablement support to people in their own homes.
Help service users rebuild everyday living skills and maintain as much independence as possible.
Deliver compassionate, person-centred care based on dignity, respect, honesty and promoting independence.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and companionship to service users.
- Support individuals with reablement to rebuild everyday skills and independence.
- Follow individual care plans and ensure care is delivered appropriately.
- Maintain accurate care records.
- Recognise, record and report safeguarding concerns, including suspected abuse or neglect.
- Be open and honest when things go wrong, report incidents promptly and follow the duty of candour.
- Travel between service users’ homes to deliver scheduled care visits.
Requirements
- At least one year of experience in a care job.
- A valid driving licence and ability to drive between care visits.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Understanding of the duty of candour and the importance of reporting incidents.
- Understanding of safeguarding guidelines and how to recognise, record and report concerns.
- A kind, patient, compassionate and reliable approach.
- Commitment to person-centred care, following care plans, maintaining accurate records and promoting independence.
