Job Overview: We provide Clinical Logistics Transport Services across all Health Boards in Wales. The role involves sorting, delivering and collecting a large volume of medical mail and samples of Blood Products and Pathology, operating between 8 am and 6 pm Monday to Friday, with occasional 24‑hour services. The Driver/Storekeeper will manage stock in store centres and ensure the safe, secure transport, distribution and replenishment of NHS Pathology, Blood/Blood Products, Secure and Non‑Secure Stationery, Laundry, Mail/Records and medical consumables (e.g. needles, syringes, containers) to primary health care sites such as hospitals, GP practices, pharmacies, opticians and dental surgeries across NHS Wales.
Main Responsibilities:
- Stock management in store centres.
- Safe and secure transport, distribution and replenishment of NHS pathology and blood products.
- Delivery of stationery, laundry, mail/records and medical consumables to healthcare sites.
- Operate within 8 am–6 pm Monday to Friday, with occasional 24‑hour service requirements.
- Ensure compliance with Accord Dangereux Routier, Good Manufacturing Practice and all relevant legislation.
Person Specification – Essential Criteria:
- Full UK driving licence.
- Experience with moving and handling and awareness of health and safety.
- Sound geographical knowledge of the area served.
- Capable of dealing with customers.
Person Specification – Desirable Criteria:
- Experience driving a range of vans.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance.
- Use of mobile technology.
- Welsh speaker.
