We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Care Support Worker to join our dedicated team in providing high-quality care for individuals with learning disabilities and behaviours that may challenge. Key Responsibilities- Support service users in the community, promoting their independence and social inclusion.
- Plan and support community trips and activities, ensuring service users have access to enjoyable experiences outside of their home.
- Provide emotional and practical support to service users with learning disabilities and behaviours that may challenge.
- Assist with bathing, dressing, continence support, and other personal care tasks.
- Prepare and serve nutritional meals, assisting with feeding when needed.
- Support with mobility, ensuring service users are safe and confident in moving around.
- Assist with shopping, errands, and other household tasks.
- Provide support calls to service users, ensuring their well-being and addressing any concerns.
- Manage and document progress for service users, updating care plans as necessary.
- Undergo ongoing training to support more complex care needs and develop skills in handling challenging behaviours.
- Promote the development of positive behaviours, using proactive strategies to manage and de-escalate challenging situations.
- Support service users with social interaction, helping to build and maintain relationships within the community.
- Work closely with family members and external professionals to ensure service users’ needs are met.
- At least 1 year of care experience, with a focus on learning disabilities and challenging behaviours preferred.
- Experience in community support and planning social or recreational activities.
- Level 2 or 3 qualification in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) preferred.
- Valid driving licence and access to a car for travel.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Ability to work day shifts, night shifts, and weekends.
- Willingness to travel to service users’ homes and various community locations.
- Care: 1 year (required).
- Learning Disabilities: 1 year (preferred).
- Driving Licence (required).
