We are searching for a highly experienced, customer-driven IT Support Engineer to join our Digital Services Desktop Support team and help deliver and continuously enhance end-user IT services across the University. This role is perfect for a problem solver who appreciates aiding others, taking ownership of their work and continuing to grow their technical skills.

In this hands-on work, you will be responsible for deploying, configuring, maintaining and retiring a variety of digital devices such as PC’s, laptops, tablets and associated accessories. You will give excellent second-line assistance to staff and students, diagnose and fix technological problems, maintain clear and precise case notes and work collaboratively with colleagues, suppliers and service partners to provide a consistent and dependable user experience.

You’ll have experience of working in a busy, customer-centred IT environment and be confident supporting and setting up end-user devices and operating systems. We are looking for a self-starter, comfortable working independently, with good prioritisation skills and a willingness to share expertise and help develop others in the team. Must have a collaborative, inclusive style and strong communication abilities.

Please note this is a full time, on-site role — 5 days a week.

You must have a degree or HND in a related subject (or similar professional experience). Experience of working within an academic or large organisational setting would be an advantage but is not essential.

The role may include some lifting of equipment and sometimes out-of-hours work. You will be issued with a Digital Services uniform for on-campus tasks.
