We are a reputable and growing business group that operates in the UK’s pharmacy, fast food, and other industries. We are now seeking a seasoned accountant with excellent communication and attention to detail who is aggressive, energetic, and able to work quickly. The position is located at our main head office in East London and requires 40 hours a week, five days a week, from 9 to 5 p.m.

Responsibilities:

  • Create monthly management accounts that include key performance indicators (KPIs), variance analysis, the balance sheet, and profit and loss.
  • Oversee forecasting and budgeting procedures in conjunction with top managers.
  • Manage month-end procedures, such as income reconciliations, and reconcile nominal accounts.
  • Compile all employees’ paystubs and make sure they are sent on time to HMRC.
  • Compile year-end accounts and make sure they are submitted on schedule and accurately.
  • Oversee and submit tax returns, VAT, PAYE, and end-of-year submissions.
  • Maintain the company’s taxation and accounting records and make sure they meet all applicable HMRC regulations.
  • Help operational teams with financial reporting and comprehension.
  • Support business decisions and director-level reporting by conducting ad hoc analysis and reporting.
  • Participate in and occasionally chair senior team meetings, participating in strategic discussions while presenting monthly accounts and KPIs.

Requirements:

  • Competent accountant.
  • Demonstrated experience in accounting or a related finance function, ideally spanning at least one to three years after qualification.
  • Extremely knowledgeable in the Microsoft 365 Suite and accounting-related software.
  • Outstanding organising and attention to detail abilities.
  • The capacity to handle several tasks and operate independently.
  • The capacity to adjust to shifting demands and fulfil business commitments.
