We are seeking a caring, dedicated, and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant (SEND Support) to join our inclusive and supportive team. Under the direction of the SENDCo and classroom teachers, you will play a key role in helping children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) reach their full potential — both academically and socially. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people and contributing to a positive, nurturing learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support children with SEND in lessons, helping them to access learning and achieve their targets.
- Assist in the development and delivery of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and contribute to ongoing progress reviews.
- Act as a keyworker for identified students, including those with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
- Maintain regular contact with parents and carers, including half-termly progress updates.
- Promote students’ emotional well-being, self-esteem, and independence.
- Work closely with the SENDCo, teachers, and external professionals to ensure consistent, high-quality support.
- Support the use of ICT and appropriate learning resources in the classroom.
- Assist in the supervision of pupils during educational visits and school activities.
- Uphold school policies and promote positive behaviour and inclusion.
