Our Client is a global engineering, construction, and environmental services company specializing in turnkey solutions for reducing air and water emissions. With proprietary Best Available Techniques (B.A.T.), it has successfully implemented over 350 flue gas cleaning plants across Europe, serving industries such as waste-to-energy, biomass-to-energy, sludge incineration, industrial facilities, and the marine sector. In addition to advanced air treatment technologies, it designs water treatment units that ensure compliance with strict emissions limits while optimizing clean water reuse.
We are looking for a hands-on, solution-oriented Commissioning Engineer with 2 to 3 years of experience, ideally in flue gas treatment or complex process industries. This is a unique opportunity for a driven individual eager to take on real responsibility in a human-sized structure, where agility and versatility are key.
Key Responsibilities:- Facilitate the handover process from erection to commissioning teams
- Conduct equipment inspections and prepare for cold commissioning
- Oversee and execute cold and hot commissioning phases
- Monitor and fine-tune flue gas treatment system performance
- Document commissioning activities (test sheets, weekly reports, logs)
- Adjust alarms, thresholds, and PID control loops (with LAB approval)
- Provide on-site training for client operational staff
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and commissioning protocols
- Act as a technical point of contact during commissioning phases
- Electrical expertise – Low voltage handling, schematics, and safety lockout procedures
- Process knowledge – Strong experience in flue gas treatment or complex industrial processes (mandatory)
- Safety certifications – SSSTS, CSCS Gold Card, or equivalent (must be valid before mobilization)
- Familiarity with key systems – Bag filters, ducts, silos, residue conveyors, gas analyzers
- Technical proficiency – Ability to update and use documents (P&IDs, I/O lists, manuals, etc.)
- Comfort working in industrial conditions – Occasional exposure to chemicals and confined spaces (with proper PPE)
- Fluent English (spoken & written) – French is a plus
- Proactive & eager to grow – Ready to step up and take ownership
- Adaptable & versatile – Comfortable in a dynamic environment
- Client-facing & communicative – Strong interpersonal skills
- Hands-on problem solver – Not afraid to dive into technical details on site
- Location: Ince, Cheshire, UK
- Commissioning Schedule: June 2025 – April 2026 (subject to update)
- Availability: On-call duty during peak commissioning phases (hot commissioning & trial run)
- Work permit required (minimum B1 English level due to post-Brexit UK regulations)
- Daily rate: Must be all-inclusive (covering travel, accommodation, meals, equipment, etc.)
