Position Summary:
The Electrical Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all on-site electrical construction and installation activities to ensure work is executed in compliance with design, schedule, quality, safety, and regulatory standards. This role requires strong leadership to manage direct labor and subcontractors, technical expertise to interpret electrical drawings and specifications, and a results-oriented approach to ensure timely project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and supervise all electrical construction and installation work on-site.
- Ensure all activities comply with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications.
- Review and interpret drawings, technical specifications, SLDs, cable schedules, termination details, and vendor documentation.
- Manage day-to-day activities of electrical crews, including direct staff and subcontractors.
- Coordinate electrical works with other disciplines (civil, mechanical, instrumentation, etc.) to avoid conflicts and delays.
- Plan work fronts based on project schedule and priorities, ensuring availability of materials, equipment, and resources.
- Monitor installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems including MV/LV switchgear, transformers, power distribution panels, earthing systems, lighting, and cable routing.
- Lead inspections, functional tests, and pre-commissioning activities.
- Ensure adherence to site HSE requirements and promote a culture of safety.
- Track progress against schedule, report daily and weekly activities, and assist with look-ahead planning.
- Participate in constructability reviews, method statement preparations, and risk assessments.
- Address non-conformities and punch list items in collaboration with QA/QC and engineering teams.
- Maintain documentation, reports, red-line markups, and as-built drawings for handover.
- Support permit-to-work systems, lockout/tagout procedures, and electrical isolations as required.
Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant technical field.
- 7–10+ years of electrical construction experience, with at least 3 years in a superintendent or supervisory role.
- Proven experience with MV/LV systems, power distribution, lighting, grounding, and industrial electrical works.
- Familiarity with international electrical standards and codes (e.g. IEC, NEC, IEEE).
- Strong leadership, planning, coordination, and communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and multidisciplinary drawings and documentation.
- Experience working with large EPC projects, preferably in oil & gas, energy, or infrastructure sectors.
- Proficiency in MS Office and project management/reporting tools.
- Ability to work in remote or high-risk environments, and willingness to work extended hours or shifts based on project needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Electrical license or certification (e.g. Journeyman, Master Electrician).
- OSHA 30, HSE, or other safety training certifications.
- Experience with commissioning, energization, and turnover of electrical systems.
- Exposure to working with international subcontractors and multi-cultural teams.
- Familiarity with permit-to-work systems and construction management software.
Working Conditions:

- May involve rotational shifts, night work, weekends, or overtime as project timelines demand.
