We are an FCA-regulated claims management company authorised to advise, investigate, and represent clients. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Claims Handler with a strong background in claimant accident management, credit hire, and personal injury (RTA) claims. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an ambitious, knowledgeable individual eager to advance their career and contribute to the firm's continued success.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing both new and existing claims while carrying out the following duties:
- Taking detailed instructions from clients by telephone, email, and occasionally in person
- Gathering evidence, assessing liability, and determining the most appropriate course of action
- Opening and managing files using the Proclaim case management system
- Instructing credit hire companies and panel solicitors where needed
- Liaising with clients and third-party insurers
- Communicating with panel solicitors and file handlers
- Liaising with external parties, including repairers, hire companies, police, and witnesses
- Providing clear updates and explaining legal documents to clients
- Assisting clients in completing required documentation
- Contacting clients to obtain outstanding information or documentation
- Carrying out general office administration (e.g., photocopying, scanning, post handling)
Skills & Experience
- Strong knowledge and experience in establishing liability
- Previous experience in a similar role within a claims management company, credit hire company, or solicitor’s practice
- Experience dealing with clients, insurers, repairers, solicitors, engineers, and credit hire companies
- Essential knowledge of credit hire and personal injury (RTA) claims
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and general IT systems; strong typing skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage clients professionally and empathetically, both in person and over the phone
