We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Housing Officer to manage a portfolio of temporary accommodation and support its occupants. The successful candidate will ensure that all properties meet Health and Safety standards and that providers and contractors adhere to the agreed terms and conditions. This role is crucial in maintaining high-quality accommodation and supporting residents in their journey towards securing permanent housing.

As a Housing Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring that licensees comply with their agreements, particularly in relation to rental payments and maintaining tenant-like conduct. You will take enforcement action when necessary and refer complex cases to specialist teams for further intervention. You will act as a key point of contact for both residents and landlords, resolving disputes, overseeing property inspections, and addressing disrepair issues to maintain safe and habitable living conditions.

A critical aspect of this role is to provide comprehensive housing advice and guidance to occupants, supporting them in exploring their housing options and working towards securing stable, long-term accommodation. You will also identify vulnerable residents who may require additional assistance and make referrals to the relevant support services.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of temporary accommodation management, housing legislation, and related policies. You should possess excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of individuals, including residents, landlords, and partner agencies. Previous experience in managing rent arrears, tenancy enforcement, and property compliance will be highly beneficial.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual who is passionate about housing and committed to making a difference in the lives of those experiencing homelessness. If you have the skills and experience required, we would love to hear from you.
