Your Role
In a nutshell, you’ll be working on a wide range of projects as an Eastwood Structural Engineer based in Sheffield.
- Embarking on structural design for steel frame, concrete frame, portal frame and traditional domestic structures.
- Using software to assist with calculations and structural design such as MasterSeries, SCIA and Strand7.
- Preparing, detailing and reviewing drawings of the systems designed.
- Having a good understanding of practical engineering and buildability.
- Preparing design quotes and writing reports.
- Supervising, as well as checking and signing off work.
- Overseeing and supporting less experienced members of the design team.
- Having excellent communication skills and working collaboratively with the design team.
- Coordinating with engineers in other disciplines such as Geotechnical and Civil engineering.
- Attending meetings to build relationships and gain valuable information from clients, discussing their needs, requirements and any design issues.
You
Ideally, we’re looking for a Structural Engineer with a Bachelors or Masters Degree in Civil/Structural engineering (or equivalent), and who is Chartered or working towards chartered status with ICE or IStructE.
