Trustee opportunity at Charterpath

Help charities thrive by connecting them with the financial expertise they need.

Join Charterpath as a Trustee and help shape the future of a growing charity that is transforming how finance professionals volunteer their skills.

This is an exciting opportunity to connect and engage finance professionals in volunteering by offering your own skills to a charity. You do not need to be a finance professional (we have got that covered!). Above all, we’re seeking someone enthusiastic, collaborative and committed to our mission.

So, if you have experience in charity sector leadership, community-building, marketing, digital engagement, or have senior finance or corporate partnership networks – we’d love to hear from you!

Who are Charterpath?

At Charterpath we recognise that thousands of charities struggle to access the financial expertise they need to thrive. At the same time, thousands of finance professionals are looking for meaningful ways to contribute their skills.

Our charity, founded in 2021, has the social purpose of increasing the number of finance professionals who volunteer to bridge that gap. We help charities build financial resilience while creating rewarding opportunities for volunteers.

What matters to Charterpath?

The mission of Charterpath is to inspire more finance professionals to volunteer their time and skills. We want to connect non-profits with diverse and expert volunteers, so volunteering is part of every finance professional's career.

We deliver our mission through three values: Inspire, Connect and Engage.

If you join us at Charterpath…

You’ll join the Board of a dynamic, purpose-driven charity. As a Trustee, you will help us scale our impact and ensure more charities have the financial confidence to focus on changing lives.

As a Trustee, you will help shape Charterpath's future direction, provide strategic oversight and support our leadership team to maximise our impact across the charity sector.

This is a rewarding opportunity to be a part of a collaborative team while supporting our mission. Additionally, a Trustee role is a great way to grow professionally and personally.

What do Charterpath look for in a Trustee?

Previous trustee experience is not required. We welcome applications from first-time trustees and will provide an induction and ongoing support to help you thrive in the role. Above all, we are looking for someone with:

  • a genuine commitment to Charterpath’s mission
  • a respectful and inclusive approach to building relationships

We are also open-minded about the skills we are looking for alongside some specific skills:

  • Charity sector leadership and networks
  • Community building, marketing and digital engagement
  • Senior corporate, finance and partnership networks

Please make sure you read our Candidate Information Pack before applying. It contains important details about the role and our organisation.

Don’t think you quite meet all of the specifications? Please don’t count yourself out. We’d still love to learn more about your interest in joining Charterpath.

We want you to have every opportunity to demonstrate your skills, ability and potential. If you have a disability or require reasonable adjustments during the application or interview process, please contact us so we can support you appropriately.

What’s next – how do I apply for the Trustee role?

Eastside People is supporting Charterpath in the recruitment for this role. Please apply by submitting your CV and a supporting statement both in Word doc format.

In the supporting statement, please tell us:

  • Why are you interested in joining Charterpath as a Trustee?
  • What skills, experience or perspectives would you bring to the Board? This might come from paid work, study, community or voluntary work or other experience.

You are welcome to send your cover letter in writing, or as a video or audio clip, alongside your CV. Any video or audio submissions should be emailed to bernice@eastsidepeople.org.

If you would like a call to discuss the role in more detail, please email Bernice Rook to arrange a convenient time at bernice@eastsidepeople.org. Having a call of this kind will not influence the success or otherwise of your application.

The closing date for applications is Friday 13th Nov. Following this, candidates will have an opportunity for an informal conversation with Eastside People, with shortlisted applicants invited to meet the Charterpath team later in November.

Eastside People is fully committed to equality of opportunity and diversity and work with our clients to ensure that we recruit inclusively, seeking to address the under-representation of some groups of people on boards and in leadership teams.
