Eastside Co is looking for a Shopify Business Development Manager to help us win high-quality ecommerce and Shopify projects with ambitious brands. We’re looking for someone who understands consultative selling, not hard selling. This role is about diagnosing commercial challenges, building trust with senior decision-makers, and shaping the right ecommerce solution around each client’s growth goals. You’ll be selling Shopify and ecommerce services across strategy, design, development, migration, optimisation, and ongoing growth support. Experience selling Shopify, ecommerce platforms, digital transformation, SaaS, or agency services is highly desirable.
You’ll be responsible for identifying, qualifying, nurturing, and closing new business opportunities for Eastside Co. You’ll work closely with our marketing, strategy, solutions, and delivery teams to turn client problems into clear commercial proposals. This is a role for someone who can ask intelligent questions, understand business drivers, and guide prospects through a considered buying process.
Key Responsibilities- Generate, qualify, and manage new business opportunities
- Sell Shopify, ecommerce, and digital growth services consultatively
- Understand client challenges across platform, UX, CRO, performance, operations, and growth
- Lead discovery calls and identify genuine commercial need
- Build strong relationships with founders, ecommerce managers, marketing leaders, and senior decision-makers
- Work with internal teams to shape proposals, scopes, and solution recommendations
- Manage the sales pipeline and keep CRM activity accurate and up to date
- Follow up consistently and professionally with prospects
- Contribute to outbound, partner, and inbound sales strategies
- Represent Eastside Co with credibility, confidence, and commercial awareness
- Proven B2B sales or business development experience
- Consultative sales experience is essential
- Experience selling Shopify, ecommerce platforms, SaaS, digital agency services, or similar solutions
- Strong understanding of ecommerce, digital growth, and online retail challenges
- Ability to sell value, not just features or price
- Comfortable speaking with senior stakeholders and business owners
- Strong commercial judgement and ability to qualify opportunities properly
- Excellent communication, questioning, and follow-up skills
- Self-motivated, organised, and accountable
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving agency environment
- Existing knowledge of Shopify or Shopify Plus
- Experience selling website builds, migrations, CRO, paid media, SEO, or retention services
- Experience working in or with ecommerce agencies
- Understanding of agency commercials, retainers, project scoping, and delivery constraints
