Eastside Co is an award-winning ecommerce agency and one of the world’s most experienced Shopify Platinum Partners. Since 2012, we’ve helped ambitious brands grow through Shopify strategy, design, development, performance marketing, CRO, retention and ongoing ecommerce support. We are looking for a Head of Sales to lead new business growth across Eastside Co. This role is not for a transactional salesperson. We need someone who understands agency and consultative selling — someone who can build trust with founders, ecommerce leaders and senior decision-makers, diagnose commercial challenges, shape strategic opportunities and position Eastside Co as the right long-term partner.

The Role

  • Own the sales pipeline from first conversation through to proposal, negotiation and close.
  • Responsible for generating and converting new business across Shopify builds, migrations, retainers, performance marketing, CRO, UX, development and wider ecommerce growth services.
  • Work closely with marketing, delivery, strategy and client services to ensure prospects receive a thoughtful, commercially relevant and high-quality sales experience.
  • Comfortable leading discovery calls, challenging client thinking, understanding ecommerce performance issues, shaping scopes of work and selling complex agency services in a credible, consultative way.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the new business sales pipeline, revenue targets, forecasting and conversion performance.
  • Lead consultative discovery calls with prospective clients.
  • Qualify opportunities properly based on budget, fit, intent and commercial potential.
  • Build trust with founders, ecommerce directors, marketing leaders and C-suite stakeholders.
  • Shape proposals around client outcomes, not just deliverables.
  • Work with internal specialists to create strong proposals, scopes and pitch materials.
  • Lead commercial negotiations while protecting margin, scope and client fit.
  • Improve sales process, CRM discipline, pipeline reporting and follow-up.
  • Collaborate with marketing to improve lead quality, inbound conversion and outbound activity.
  • Work with delivery and client services to ensure smooth handover from sale to project kick-off.
  • Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities within existing accounts where relevant.
  • Represent Eastside Co in partner conversations, events, pitches and Shopify ecosystem opportunities.

What We Are Looking For

  • Strong experience selling complex agency, ecommerce, digital, Shopify, SaaS implementation or B2B professional services solutions.
  • Commercially sharp, consultative, credible with senior stakeholders and comfortable selling services where the right solution needs to be shaped through discovery.

Essential Experience

  • Proven sales or business development experience in an agency, ecommerce, digital, technology or B2B services environment.
  • Strong track record of selling complex services, not just simple products.
  • Experience managing a full sales pipeline from lead to close.
  • Strong consultative selling skills.
  • Ability to diagnose client needs and shape commercially relevant solutions.
  • Experience creating or leading proposals and pitches.
  • Strong understanding of ecommerce, digital marketing, website projects, UX, CRO, technology platforms or Shopify.
  • Good commercial awareness around pricing, margin, scope and client fit.
  • Strong communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Confidence working with senior decision-makers.

Highly Desirable Experience

  • Selling Shopify builds, migrations or ecommerce growth retainers.
  • Experience in a digital agency, ecommerce agency, Shopify agency or performance marketing agency.
  • Knowledge of the Shopify ecosystem.
  • Selling to founders, CEOs, ecommerce directors and marketing directors.
  • Improving CRM discipline, sales process and forecasting.

Location: Remote-first, with flexibility for client meetings, internal collaboration and occasional events.

Employment Type: Full-time.

Compensation: Competitive base salary with a performance-related commission or bonus structure, depending on experience.
