We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and proactive individual to join our team as an Estate Maintenance Assistant. This is a varied, hands-on role supporting the upkeep and development of a working mixed estate, including farm areas and holiday accommodation. In this role, you’ll be involved in a wide range of tasks to help keep the estate looking its best.

Day-to-day duties include:

  • Grass cutting, strimming, hedge trimming, fencing and general grounds maintenance.
  • Supporting planned and reactive maintenance across estate buildings, including holiday lets, farm structures and other facilities.
  • Working with the wider team – and occasionally external contractors – on renovation and improvement projects.
  • Assisting with routine repairs such as basic carpentry, painting and decorating and minor plumbing tasks.
  • Assisting with machinery operation and basic upkeep (training can be provided), as well as maintaining tools and equipment.
  • Supporting health and safety standards across the estate.

Requirements:

  • Practical experience with machinery and equipment, including safe operation, basic maintenance and a good understanding of how to use tools effectively.
  • A hands-on approach with general maintenance tasks such as basic carpentry, painting, fencing or similar.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and flexible attitude.
  • Self-motivated, reliable and able to manage time effectively to complete tasks to a high standard.
  • A strong awareness of health and safety, particularly when working with machinery and tools.
  • Previous experience in a similar role (estate, farm or property maintenance) would be an advantage.
