We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Machine Operative. In this role, you will be instrumental in operating a variety of machinery and power tools to produce high-quality products efficiently and safely. Based in Quarry Hill, Ilkeston.
Responsibilities
- Operate various manufacturing machinery and power tools, including Routers, Drills and Circular Saws.
- Monitor machine operations continuously, making adjustments as needed to maintain optimal performance and product quality.
- Conduct routine inspections to ensure a high quality finished product.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and instructions.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following safety protocols related to machinery operation, materials handling, and fabrication processes.
- Perform routine maintenance on machines and report any malfunctions or repairs needed to ensure minimal downtime.
- Assist with materials handling tasks including loading/unloading raw materials or finished goods.
- Support bench operations when required, ensuring parts are finished to a high standard.
- Collaborate with team members on continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency and safety within the manufacturing facility.
What we are looking for
- Proven experience operating machinery and power tools within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and assembly techniques.
- Proficiency in reading technical drawings and instructions.
- Ability to carry out visual quality control inspection.
- Experience with factory safety procedures related to machinery operation and materials handling.
- Basic math skills necessary.
