Overview
In this role you support the Newport logistics team to ensure timely order processing and cost-efficient shipping across multiple businesses. You coordinate carriers, handle non-SAP dispatch requests, and collaborate with production, warehouse, and QA to keep goods ready and compliant. You use defined systems for order prep and ensure COAs are dispatched timely. This role drives customer service excellence and operational efficiency in a global shipping environment.
Responsibilities
- Support Customer Service Representatives to ensure timely order processing across Eastman, Italmatch & Ferro
- Manage carriers to achieve least-cost options and on-time collection/delivery
- Meet dispatch requests not handled in SAP in a timely, cost-effective manner
- Optimize work processes with warehouse/production/QA for safety, efficiency, and quality
- Liaise with production and warehouse to ensure goods are ready timely
- Utilize the appropriate system for order preparation per business requirements
- Follow up with QA to ensure timely dispatch of COAs
- Support the logistics department in all aspects of the shipping process
Key requirements
- Experience in logistics/shipping
- Familiarity with SAP for order processing
- Ability to liaise with Customer Service Representatives, production, warehouse, and QA
- Carrier management and cost-optimization capabilities
- Ability to meet dispatch deadlines and handle non-SAP dispatch requests
