We have a fantastic opportunity for a Trainee Building Surveyor to join our Asset team on a full-time, permanent basis. The role is to undertake the surveying function within Asset Management. This includes:
- Conducting structural surveys and managing third-party structural engineers to assess causes and recommend remedies.
- Managing and progressing insurance and disrepair claims, including inspections and investigations.
- Carrying out property inspections for Landlord’s consent and providing technical advice.
- Completing EPCs, retrofit assessments, and capturing energy data to inform the Asset Database.
- Using energy software to support EPC C and Net Zero planning.
- Identifying energy-efficient products and technologies to meet retrofit targets.
- Performing general building surveys across Eastlight's assets.
What We’re Looking For:
- GCSE levels 9-4 in Maths and English or demonstrable level of numeracy and literacy skills.
- Construction knowledge and understanding of surveying.
- Strong customer care skills with recent experience in social housing.
- A reliable team player who supports colleagues effectively.
- Proven ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and maintain high standards.
- Confident in dealing with the public, including handling challenging situations professionally.

- £32,058 per annum.
- £2,200 per annum car allowance.
- Full-time permanent contract.
