About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a HR Change Consultant to support the delivery of a large transformation programme - Local Government Reorganisation (LGR).

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver specialist, expert employment law advice and support to meet the council’s needs and minimise risk.
  • Ensure effective complex employee relations case management and delivery of change programmes that meets employee, service and organisational needs.
  • Work closely with the Head of HR and change leads to implement people-focused change interventions and delivering expert specialist change management advice.
  • Deliver end-to-end organisational change activities, including TUPE with effective due diligence, assessing people risks, costs, culture, collective/individual consultation, selection processes and capability assessments.
  • Analysing workforce data and preparing documentation including consultation packs, FAQs, meeting notes, business cases, and outcome letters.
  • Oversee HR data migration, ensuring accuracy, completeness and compliance with legal, security and privacy standards.
  • Support the harmonisation of employment terms, policies, handbooks and HR governance frameworks.

About you

This position is ideal for an experienced senior HR change professional who is capable of working on their own initiative on a wide range of HR projects with deep experience of acquisitions, transformation, due diligence, integration and complex organisational change.

You will need strong IT skills and excellent communication skills, together with the ability to multi-task and manage multiple initiatives. Being approachable and an ability to coach others, no matter their confidence and ability, is an important requirement. You will be Level 7 CIPD qualified or equivalent with relevant senior HR experience preferably in a unionised environment. Public sector experience would also be an advantage.
