We are looking for a qualified food safety officer to join our Environmental Health (Commercial) Team. You will be completing food hygiene inspections, complaint work and investigations in the borough, providing support and advice on key legislation and working to ensure our statutory obligations are met, as well as supporting the commercial aspects of our service.
What We Need From You
- You will have a sound knowledge of the legislation, codes of practice and guidance relating to food safety, together with the ability to carry out food hygiene inspections independently.
- You will also have a willingness to progress your knowledge in health and safety, and other areas regulated by the Environmental Health (Commercial) Team.
- You will also have the exciting opportunity to work with our primary authority partners across the country, providing expert advice and guidance.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills are required.
- You will have experience of dealing with a variety of customers, partners and other organisations, as well as the ability to manage competing priorities and remain calm under pressure.
- Membership of a relevant professional body or working towards membership is desirable.
- Due to the nature of the role, a full driving licence is essential.
