To: Finance Manager Description As an PQ/Assistant Management Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the Finance Manager with the delivery of accurate financial reporting and day-to-day financial operations across Eastlands Venue Services.

Working closely with operational teams and key stakeholders, you will assist with month-end processes, balance sheet reconciliations, budgeting, payroll reporting and financial analysis, whilst helping to ensure robust financial controls are maintained.

  • Your Day to Day responsibilities Month-End & Management Accounts
  • Support the preparation of monthly management accounts, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Prepare journals, accruals and prepayments, maintaining accuracy across financial records.
  • Assist with month-end close processes and variance analysis.
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis
  • Prepare regular financial reports and KPI analysis to support operational decision-making.
  • Assist with budget monitoring and forecasting, highlighting key trends and variances.
  • Provide financial information and analysis to operational stakeholders as required.
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations
  • Prepare and maintain accurate balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Ensure supporting documentation is maintained for audit purposes.
  • Payroll & Labour Reporting
  • Support payroll reconciliation and maintain payroll trackers.
  • Work closely with the People Team and operational managers to ensure payroll data is accurate and complete.
  • Assist with labour cost reporting and budget monitoring.
  • Transactional Finance Support
  • Provide support across Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities when required.
  • Assist with supplier queries, customer invoicing and payment reconciliations.
  • Support cash management and banking processes.
  • Compliance & Audit
  • Maintain strong financial controls and ensure compliance with company policies and relevant legislation.
  • Assist with VAT reconciliations and statutory reporting.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing accurate supporting documentation.
  • Process Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to improve finance processes and reporting.
  • Support system enhancements and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute towards developing efficient and scalable finance processes as the business continues to grow.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise Experience

  • Previous experience within a finance or management accounting environment.
  • Experience supporting month-end processes and financial reporting is desirable.
  • Experience within hospitality, leisure or a fast-paced operational business would be advantageous.

Qualifications

  • AAT Level 4 qualified or studying towards ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent) preferred but not essential.
  • Technical Expertise
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis and reporting.
  • Experience using accounting systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
  • Good understanding of management accounting principles.
