WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We\โ€™re looking for a creative, driven, and hands-on Senior Sous Chef who thrives in fast-paced, high-volume kitchens and loves delivering exceptional food experiences. You\โ€™ll bring proven experience in leading and motivating kitchen teams, ensuring consistent quality and presentation, and running smooth kitchen operations from prep to plate.

A FLAVOUR OF THE DAY TO DAY

  • Assist the Head Chef in developing innovative, seasonal menus that delight our guests and meet client briefs.
  • Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to maintain consistency, quality, and presentation standards across all services.
  • Lead and inspire kitchen staff, setting clear expectations and fostering a positive, productive working environment.
  • Collaborate closely with front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.
  • Manage the staff catering operation day to day, ensuring quality and efficiency.
  • Monitor and control gross profit, portioning, and wastage to maximise yield.
  • Ensure all food hygiene, allergen, calorie labelling, and safety requirements are met in line with legislation and company policy.
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness standards, ensuring daily, weekly, and monthly checks are completed.
  • Participate in tastings and provide trained culinary feedback to enhance menu development.
  • Build strong working relationships with colleagues across departments to support smooth event delivery.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Proven experience as a Senior Sous Chef or Sous Chef in a high-volume, high-standard kitchen.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, train, and develop kitchen teams.
  • Excellent knowledge of food trends, seasonal produce, and menu development.
  • Strong understanding of cost control, gross profit management, and reducing waste.
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure and adapt quickly to last-minute changes or event requirements.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to consistency in quality and presentation.
  • Knowledge of all food hygiene, allergen, and health & safety regulations.
  • Collaborative approach with strong communication skills to work effectively across teams.
  • Computer literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and kitchen management systems.
