About the role
We’re looking for visionary culinary leaders who can shape menus, drive kitchen culture and bring creativity, consistency and excellence to our restaurants. You’ll have the freedom to innovate, the platform to lead, and the opportunity to help define some of Manchester’s most exciting new dining experiences. As a Sous Chef, you will support the Senior Sous Chef and Head Chef in delivering premium, concept‑led dining experiences within a high‑end, multi‑outlet environment. You will help ensure consistency, quality, and smooth day‑to‑day kitchen operations across a variety of service styles. This is a hands‑on role in a fast‑paced, high‑profile setting, where you will support service delivery, manage sections, and ensure dishes are executed to the highest standards. You will work closely with the senior team to maintain pace, organisation, and attention to detail during both event and non‑event service.
In this role you will:
- Support the delivery of a high‑performing kitchen operation, ensuring consistent food quality and service standards
- Execute menus in line with brand direction, maintaining strong attention to detail and consistency
- Support and guide junior chefs during service, contributing to a positive and efficient team culture
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and compliance
- Support stock control, organisation, and waste reduction to ensure efficient kitchen operations
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Essential
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or strong Chef de Partie in a high‑volume, quality‑led restaurant or hotel environment
- Experience working across multiple service periods (e.g. breakfast, all‑day dining, evening service)
- Ability to run a section and support kitchen operations during busy service
- Good leadership skills with the ability to support and guide junior chefs
- Solid understanding of food safety, hygiene, and allergen legislation
- Experience supporting stock control and minimising waste
- Strong organisational and time‑management skills
- Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast‑paced environment
- Passion for quality, consistency, and guest experience
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and event days
Desirable
- Experience in a premium or concept‑led restaurant environment
- Experience supporting new openings or relaunches
- Exposure to menu changes and seasonal updates
- Knowledge of quality ingredients and suppliers
- Experience working with larger kitchen and FOH teams
