Position Summary: Under supervision, set up and operate power-press machines in accordance with specifications, plans, and safety standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Regular attendance at work and ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
- Conduct safety inspections and operate equipment daily.
- Troubleshoot equipment and make repairs/adjustments as needed.
- Perform all necessary quality checks during production and ensure finished product meets specifications and standards set forth by the Company.
- Assist with recording and completing all documentation including blast profile reading, atmospheric weather condition reading, and paint thickness reading.
- Work with minimal supervision.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent plus working knowledge of equipment, work processes, procedures, and techniques used in shot blasting and painting metal.
- Knowledge of ship terminology, safety, and OSHA regulations.
Skills:
- Effective troubleshooting and problem-solving.
- Read and understand blueprints.
- Communicate verbally and in writing.
- Present information and respond to questions.

- Safe operation of hand and power tools.
- Basic math.

Work Environment:
The work environment includes risk of electrical shock, moving mechanical parts, vibration, fumes, airborne particles, toxic chemicals, continual loud noise, and other hazards found in an industrial shipyard environment. Rigorous compliance with safety procedures, policies, and personal safety equipment requirements is mandatory.
