Position Summary: Responsible for Preventative and Corrective Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance. Will troubleshoot and make repairs on production equipment such as conveyors, dust collectors, motors, gear reducers, variable frequency drivers, and programmable logic controllers.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintain regular attendance and work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
- Read and interpret electric, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics for repairs and installations.
- Fill out work reports and track production downtime and repair times.
- Diagnose and repair Ethernet and Device Net systems.
- Repair overhead cranes and hoists.
- Repair tools and ancillary production equipment such as presses, band saws, pumps, spray guns, and sanders.
- Repair CNC Plasma equipment as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Requirements:
- Education & Experience: High school diploma or GED equivalence; 3–5 years of mechanical and electrical maintenance experience (or equivalent education and experience). Working knowledge and experience of operating overhead cranes and welding preferred. Knowledge of ship terminology, safety, and OSHA regulations is required.

- Effective troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
- Basic to intermediate Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook proficiency.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Common‑sense understanding to execute written, oral, or diagram instructions.
- Read and understand blueprints.
- Knowledge of safe operation and use of hand and power tools.
- Proficiency in addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division across units of measure.
- Ability to read and use a tape measure.

Physical Demands: Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Requires close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus vision. Must meet OSHA standards and wear required personal protective equipment. Must work at heights of at least 50 feet, from scaffolding, man‑lifts, or similar, and in confined spaces, extreme heat or cold.
Work Environment: Heavy industrial shipyard environment with risks of electrical shock, moving mechanical parts, vibration, fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise. Strict compliance with safety procedures and personal protective equipment is mandatory.
