You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless deployment of competent crew while supporting strategic initiatives in recruitment and performance management. Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Marine HR matters for assigned vessels.
- Administer and monitor ship staff rotations and pooling to ensure efficient manpower deployment across the fleet.
- Coordinate the recruitment process by screening applications, conducting background checks, and verifying documents.
- Evaluate crew appraisals for vessel management teams and identify candidates for promotion and career development.
- Ensure all vessels comply with MLC requirements, ISO procedures, and company manning standards.
- Manage office briefings and training sessions for new hires, masters, and chief engineers.
- Maintain audit‑ready systems for crew certifications, medical records, and experience documentation.
- Liaise with manning offices and internal departments regarding leave requests, pensions, and crew changes.
- Analyse manpower statistics to forecast future staffing needs and fleet expansion requirements.
- Provide guidance and on‑the‑job training to junior members of the Marine HR team.
Requirements
- Right to work in UK.
- 4+ years of experience in Marine HR matters, either on board ships or within a shore‑based environment.
- Strong proficiency in both written and spoken English with effective communication skills.
- Advanced IT literacy, particularly across Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- In‑depth knowledge of fleet marine HR processes, operations, and STCW requirements.
