Eastern High are looking for an organised, enthusiastic and friendly librarian to run our Learning Resource Centre.
This is an exciting opportunity to become a member of the Eastern High family and inspire a love of reading in our pupils. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a welcoming environment, supporting pupils to choose books, managing the loan system, facilitating book clubs, and managing the Accelerated Reading programme for Y7 and 8 pupils. This role is central to our efforts to enhance pupils\’ reading skills and enjoyment of reading for pleasure.
The library is located in a new, state-of-the-art building and is rapidly expanding in terms of pupil numbers. Although designated as an 11-16 school, we share our building with Cardiff & Vale College, which provides Post 16 education up to 19 years old.
The position is a Grade 5 term-time contract, 37 hours per week, pro-rata for 39 weeks per year. The FTE salary ranges from £27,269 to £31,067.
