Are you an organised, detail-driven professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment? The Security Estates Officer, based within the Estates Team, will play a key role in maintaining the security, safety and smooth operation of the school site and its associated estate facilities. The post holder will work under the direction of the Operations Manager, contributing to the effective monitoring of the Campus and ensuring it remains secure and welcoming for students, staff, visitors and contractors. The role supports the Senior Leadership Team and Governing Body by taking responsibility for the security of the school site under an agreed system of supervision. This includes maintaining a visible presence across the Campus, carrying out security checks, and ensuring that all estate facilities operate safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake regular security checks and identify security risks
- Hi-visibility patrols of the Campus Estates internally and externally
- Ensuring everyone who entered the Campus has signed in and/or wearing ID
- Prevent unauthorised access to the building
- Identify, report and address faults and issues in liaison with the Estates team
- Deal with immediate safety matters
- Be conversant with all building management systems - fire/security alarms, CCTV, classroom change over bell and emergency lockdown announcement, disabled toilet alarms
- Provide medical assistance and first aid as required
- Report and respond to issues of anti-social behaviour and business crime
- Gather intelligence and data on key issues
- Estates experience with excellent attention to detail
- The ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure, particularly during busy periods
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- A proactive, professional approach with the confidence to manage priorities
- Commitment to upholding confidentiality, accuracy and integrity at all times
