Eastern Education Group have a newly created role that establishes clear ownership of technology portfolio governance across the Group, ensuring that digital investment is actively managed, optimised and aligned to strategic priorities. The Technology Portfolio Manager will oversee a complex, multi-site digital estate spanning device fleets, software platforms, identity and access management, and utilisation data. The role reflects the scale the Group has reached, where continuous oversight is essential to control costs, reduce duplication and maintain a secure, efficient environment.
The postholder will influence how millions of pounds of technology investment are deployed, using data-driven insight to guide decisions on devices, software and digital services. By monitoring utilisation, leading regular technology reviews, and maintaining a single, authoritative view of the estate, they will identify inefficiencies, support smarter procurement, and ensure value for money. Close collaboration with IT, Finance, Procurement and curriculum teams will ensure that technology decisions are aligned with organisational needs and architectural standards.
In addition, the role will lead key enabling initiatives that shape the Group’s future digital environment, including device optimisation, software rationalisation and identity modernisation such as Single Sign-On and role-based access control. It will introduce structured assurance processes across sites to ensure consistent deployment, effective utilisation and alignment with curriculum delivery. Overall, the position offers the opportunity to embed stronger governance, improve security and user experience, and deliver a more sustainable and scalable digital ecosystem.
