Eastern Connecticut Health Network (ECHN) invites Obstetric Gynecologist (OB/GYN) Physicians to apply for an outstanding Inpatient OB/GYN Hospitalist Laborist hospital-employed opportunity at Manchester Memorial Hospital — an Award-Winning Hospital.

Position Highlights:

  • A flexible schedule of 7 to 8 (24-hour) shifts per month
  • Providing inpatient OB/GYN floor consultations and emergency room coverage
  • Multidisciplinary approach and supportive team
  • Managing the obstetric unit
  • Performing obstetric triage
  • Weekend cross-coverage with other local collaborative groups
  • Level 3 Neonatology Intensive Care Unit with infant nursery

ECHN’s Family Birthing Center has 20 private rooms with approximately 1600 annual deliveries. The team is anchored by exceptionally talented obstetrics and gynecology physicians, neonatology/nurse midwives, and nurse practitioners/physician assistants. ECHN’s strong partnership with Connecticut Children’s Medical Center further supports ECHN’s Level III Neonatology (NICU) Unit with expert neonatologists, neonatology nurses, lactation consultants, pediatricians, physician therapists, respiratory therapists, and social workers.

We offer 249 beds and are supported by approximately 500 physicians and advanced practitioners. The network encompasses multiple primary care outpatient practice sites, expert physician specialists, comprehensive inpatient clinical services, and a state-of-the-art cancer center.

The University of Connecticut Family Medicine Residency at Eastern Connecticut Health Network. Medical students in their third and fourth years receive clinical education at both Manchester Memorial and Rockville General hospitals, as well as several of ECHN’s primary care practice sites. The network offers robotic surgery, including the MAKO robotic-assisted knee-hip replacement system, and the Xi da Vinci Robot.
