Shovel Driver

Are you ready to take on an exciting role in a dynamic construction environment? As a Shovel Driver at Eastern Concrete, you\’ll be at the heart of our production process, helping to create high-quality precast concrete products. You\’ll operate machinery, handle equipment, and drive a loading shovel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate machinery and equipment to produce precast concrete units
  • Pour and compact concrete into moulds according to design specifications
  • Assist with demoulding, finishing, and curing processes
  • Safely move and store precast elements using loading shovel or telehandler
  • Perform material handling tasks as directed by site management
  • Conduct daily equipment checks and basic maintenance
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment
  • Follow all health and safety protocols and wear PPE at all times
  • Collaborate with the production team to meet output targets

The Ideal Candidate Will Have…

  • Experience in the construction industry
  • Ability to operate heavy plant and lifting equipment
  • Valid loading shovel and/or telehandler/forklift licence
  • Full clean UK driving licence
  • Strong awareness of site safety standards and practices

  • Starting at £13.38 per hour, including paid breaks
  • 45hours per week, Monday to Friday, plus overtime hours available.
