This role serves as the first line of response for basic incoming customer calls. The Customer Support Specialist must accurately and efficiently answer inquiries regarding all types of new and existing products and services. The role requires maintaining a thorough knowledge base of bank and call center products, services, policies, and procedures. The specialist is responsible for meeting entry-level departmental service standards and sales goals set by senior management. They must develop the skills necessary to work independently in either a remote or onsite environment.

Responsibilities:

  1. Serve as the bank’s first point of contact on inbound customer calls concerning all account types and services.
  2. Maintain detailed knowledge of the bank’s products, services, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Handle diverse customer situations with minimal supervision by making sound decisions that minimize risk.
  3. Actively listen to determine customer needs and apply appropriate approaches to achieve desired outcomes.
  4. Communicate effectively with customers using superior verbal and written skills.
  5. Handle basic customer complaints and problems with minimal assistance, recognizing personal limitations and requesting help when needed.
  6. Achieve entry-level sales and service standards as defined by senior management.

Requirements:

  • Obtain and maintain a license to service HELOC applicants through the Nationwide Multistate Licensing System (NMLS).

Education and Experience:

  • Associate’s Degree or relevant experience preferred.
  • Customer Service background preferred.
  • Call Center experience preferred.
  • Service and sales experience a plus.
  • Proficiency in PC use and data entry required.
  • Proven job stability required.

Skills/Knowledge:

  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Strong verbal and listening skills, including good grammar, tone, and diction.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Punctuality and consistent attendance are required.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.

Working Conditions:

  • Flexibility to work various schedules, including evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to use a headset and sit for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Moderate to high noise levels.
