We are pleased to offer an opportunity for a Private Rental Sector Officer to join our Housing Options and Wellbeing Service. This role will specialise in resettlement services to support homeless applicants to access and sustain private rented accommodation, including landlord liaison, and tenancy management. The focus will be supporting single homelessness and those rough sleeping or at risk of rough sleeping into long term accommodation with a focus on tenancy sustainment.
In this role, you will be supporting homelessness applicants to access and sustain privately rented accommodation. This includes landlord's liaison and tenancy management. The private rental sector offer sits under the umbrella of the 'Direct Lets' scheme which is a comprehensive tenant finding service which introduces private sector landlords to prospective tenants.
You would be required to manage challenging customers and need to be able to listen, extract, and assess important information in a calm and sensitive manner to ensure the best outcome for their housing issues. You will need to ensure that all customers are treated fairly and deliver efficient service delivery in accordance with legislation, policy, and best practices. We need an organised, efficient, and experienced individual who can work in a highly demanding and challenging environment. The candidate will need to work independently and confidently. Excellent communication, and IT skills are essential.

The role will require working from our Prevention Hub in Eastbourne, where we work alongside key partners to deliver a collaborative model to prevent and resolve homelessness. You may also work from other locations across Lewes District and Eastbourne, with opportunities for some home working.
