Engineers are an essential part of East Yorkshire Buses, ensuring our fleet of vehicles is kept safe, reliable, and available for service at all times. We are seeking an experienced NVQ Level 3 or equivalent Skilled Bus/HGV Technician to join our team at the Bridlington Depot. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing our fleet of buses, ensuring they are safe, reliable, and in top condition for daily service.

This is a permanent late shift role, covering 13 Monday to Friday. You'll be responsible for:

  • Maintaining our fleet of buses to company standards
  • Running and roadside repairs
  • Diagnostic and development works including after treatment systems
  • Carrying out vehicle inspections to company requirements
  • Health and safety compliance
  • Carrying out standard operating procedures

This is a permanent, full-time role, working 39 hours a week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs on a variety of buses.
  • Diagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical faults.
  • Perform safety inspections in accordance with DVSA and company standards.
  • Ensure all work is carried out to the highest quality and within set timeframes.
  • Maintain accurate records of all work completed.
  • Collaborate with other team members and departments to ensure smooth operations.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Must have an NVQ Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Maintenance.
  • Proven experience working as a HGV/Bus engineer or technician.
  • Strong knowledge of HGV/Bus mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair complex faults.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Effective communication skills and a team player mentality.
  • A valid UK driving license; PCV license is desirable but not essential.
