Overview
In this strategic role, you will act as Accountable Sponsor within the PACE governance framework to steer designated work packages and broader sponsorship portfolios. You’ll collaborate with government, Network Rail and industry partners to align scope, benefits and outcomes with organisational objectives. You will guide option development, risk assessment and evidence-based business cases to support informed decisions. The role focuses on governance, stakeholder engagement and benefits realisation across the East West Rail programme, contributing to a once-in-a-generation infrastructure effort.

Responsibilities
- Own and manage programme scope to deliver agreed outcomes and benefits
- Act as Accountable Sponsor for designated work packages within PACE governance
- Support delivery of wider sponsorship portfolio
- Ensure alignment of Sponsor's Requirements and benefits realisation with programme objectives
- Contribute to governance through robust options, recommendations and business cases
- Build and maintain relationships with government, industry partners and local stakeholders
- Monitor, evaluate and report on programme benefits and value creation
- Support identification and development of funding and commercial opportunities
- Collaborate with Network Rail, train operating companies and government stakeholders for integration with the wider rail network
Key requirements
- Experience in programme sponsorship, project management or major programme delivery
- Ability to analyse complex information and communicate technical and commercial issues to diverse audiences
- Experience developing options, recommendations and proposals for decision-making
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
